Promoting Health and Quality of Life Through Occupational Therapy

Leumit offers occupational therapy services for all ages and a wide range of medical and developmental challenges. Our occupational therapists step in when there are functional difficulties in various aspects of life and environments, with the overarching goal of improving function and participation in daily life.

Key Areas of Occupational Therapy

Physical Injuries

Treatment for individuals with orthopedic injuries in the limbs, head trauma, and burn victims. Occupational therapy focuses on improving motor and cognitive functions and establishing a new daily routine. Therapy includes motor rehabilitation, neurological and cognitive rehabilitation, scar management for burns, and ergonomic adaptations to living and working environments.

Developmental Delays

The goal of OT is to identify and address functional difficulties in a child’s daily activities at home, kindergarten, school, and within the community. Occupational therapy supports children with learning disabilities, intellectual and developmental disabilities, sensory regulation challenges, coordination difficulties, ADHD and ADD, and children on the autism spectrum.

Geriatrics

Therapy in old age focuses on injury prevention and rehabilitation in areas such as leisure activities, daily functioning, cognitive abilities, safety maintenance, and fall prevention—helping to preserve seniors’ health and enhance their quality of life.

Psychiatric Disabilities

Utilizing cognitive, motor, sensory, emotional, and social therapeutic tools to facilitate the integration of individuals experiencing difficulties in social, occupational, or daily life functioning. Therapy is tailored to help them engage in meaningful activities in the environment of their choice.

OT for Children

Gross and fine motor skills are fundamental for optimal functioning in adulthood and form the foundation for essential learning abilities. Some children may struggle with one or more motor skills. They may have difficulty holding a pencil correctly, making their handwriting slow and clumsy. They may struggle with threading beads, jumping on one foot, or frequently stumble and fall. OT can help them.
