Immunizations and Vaccinations

Immunizations and Vaccinations

Why do we need vaccinations?

Our immune system knows how to recognize whether a protein circulating in the body belongs to us or whether it is a foreign protein. When a protein is identified as foreign, a number of mechanisms are activated against it aimed at destroying it and protecting the body.

After the destruction of the foreign protein, other cells have an essential role of remembering it, so that the next time the same protein reaches the body, the reaction will be faster and more efficient.

The vaccines are considered a breakthrough in preventive medicine. They protect babies, toddlers, children and adults from potentially serious and even fatal diseases and protect family members and community members who cannot be vaccinateed due to age, underlying diseases, etc.. Sometimes vaccines cause mild side effects, which usually pass after a few days.

All routine vaccinations given at Tipat Halav stations and schools are free of charge.
