Leumit customers who have service animals are welcome to keep the service animals by their sides while at the medical centers, while undergoing an examination, receiving treatment, or during hospitalization.

Exemptions include:

  • Any place in the clinic for performing surgery, catheterizations, other invasive operations and dialysis.
  • Oncology clinics 
  • Inpatient wards or clinics designed to treat people with immunodeficiency or for the majority of patients in an immunodeficiency location
  • Burn wards or rooms

Accessibility for the hearing impaired, hard of hearing and deaf

Leumit offers a wide variety of tools that are adapted to deaf and hard of hearing people, in order to enable them to communicate effectively with all the various factors in Leumit, such as the medical teams, customer service, etc.

Adaptations for people with visual and reading disabilities

We adapted the services offered to all our customers, including customers living with visual or reading disabilities. As part of the adaptations, we ensured the accessibility of Leumit's website and the app on IOS and Android, and includes adaptations for the visually impaired, for those with hearing impairments, and for all those with motor impairments. An accessibility test was carried out by the Philosopht company with reference to contrast colors, working with a screen reader, accessible alternative text, the ability to navigate using tab order and the size of text and the size of clickable items.

Medical Services in Sign Language and Additional Languages

For the convenience of our clients, we have established a medical translation service center, offering interpretation in sign language (Simulant), as well as English, Arabic, Russian, French, Amharic, and Tigrinya.

Leumit is committed to ensuring the continuity of services during emergencies, including wartime situations, while maintaining full accessibility in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law. All medical centers are equipped with accessible emergency signage, directing clients to protected areas, and the website provides emergency procedures in an accessible format. Additionally, branches with dedicated emergency accessibility are clearly marked on the website, allowing clients to choose the most suitable medical center for their needs.
