Safety at home requires adjustments in order to reduce the risk of accidents and falls. One of the ways to improve safety is by installing grab bars and handrails in key places such as in the bathroom and near the stairs. It is important to make sure that the house is well lit, without obstacles. Periodically test electrical and gas appliances. Heat the house using an air conditioner or radiator and not heat spreaders or stoves. Consider wearing an alarm button, allowing you to seek help if needed.

Weight loss and pre-diabetes workshop

Being overweight can harm health, and increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and various types of cancer. Pre-diabetes is defined as a condition in which the blood sugar level is high, and the body does not use insulin properly. Pre-diabetes that is not treated can turn into diabetes, and result in damage to cells, nerves, damage to body organs, heart disease and more.

The Leumit weight loss workshop is intended for Leumit customers over the age of 18, who have a BMI of 27 or higher or who have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic.
The workshop includes 10 weekly sessions with a clinical dietitian. Each session lasted an hour and a half
